Slurp'n the soup over sauce semantics

We are lucky to live minutes from University Avenue, quickly becoming the "Eat Street" of Saint Paul. Many of the small restaurants are owned by Asians from a wide variety of countries, bringing their homeland recipes to us, given the available ingredients they have to work with that is--so it's not quite the same, but as close as they can get it here in the Midwest. Hoa Bien (University and Lexington) was great tonight--a huge bowl of hot and sour soup with celery, sprouts, herbs, pineapple, and tomatoes. Somehow the dinner conversation turned to spaghetti sauce commercials and hearing the name Prego cracked me up! All I could think of is prego being a term you might call an expectant mother, while in Italian it evidently means "your welcome." And this slang is on a jar of tomato sauce! It makes me uneasy I think!
